Holy Baptism Batman!

So, this weekend I became a godmother. Very exciting stuff. To prep for this day, I did some vigorous amounts of shopping to guarantee that I would have the perfect outfit and accessories. Hey. A lot of pictures are taken at these events. Can't have the little guy looking back and wondering what the hell his godmother was thinking.

Here is what I wore:
Dress from JCrew which I will point out was amazing and so comfortable.

Shoes kind of like these. Mine are black patent peep-toe slingbacks with a cut out on the side by BCBG.

And for the grand finale.....I made this GORGEOUS flower pin with peacock feather accents. It might be my new favorite thing.
I knew that I needed some extra umph for this dress because however wonderful it is by itself, there is nothing dazzling about it. This flower pin really did the trick and got many compliments throughout the day.

Here is what it looked like on.
*I will add that it was enormous and I couldn't have it on while in the car because it battled with the seatbelt and lost. But these are minor details.

Hope you have something dazzling in your accessory arsenal.

Accessory DON'T

This post is looooong overdue. I was on the bus with this woman last week and was amazed by how much jewelry she had on! Incredible. Sorry for the blurry picture. It's difficult to secretly get a picture of someone on the bus.
She just slapped glorious Coco Chanel in the face with this! How outrageous is this? So bad.

Here's what she was wearing:
-MASSIVE chandelier earrings
-a huge necklace
-rings on almost every finger
-a headband with a giant bow
-a watch

Her dress has an all over print, also. Nothing she was wearing, clothing wise, particularly matched either. So there's that. And she was young! I think that was the hardest part. I couldn't figure out how/why she'd do this to herself.

Take notes kids. Don't let this be you. Always take off one accessory before you leave the house.

Spoon it to me

A while back a friend of mine showed me a ring she purchased down at the Embarcadero. And I have not been able to get it out of my head. It's the stem of the spoon. Genius. I relayed this amazing find to my mom who told me spoon rings were all the rage when she was younger. Apparently she then told my grandparents who, low and behold, recovered my mom's old ring. They cleaned it up and gave it to me this weekend. Can I just say GLORIOUS????

I love the detailing on it. So intricate.
